Sustainable Bioprocessing Laboratory

Welcome to the Sustainable Bioprocessing Laboratory at the Department of Biotechnology,  Bhupat and Jyoti Mehta School of Biosciences, IIT Madras. Our research is dedicated to developing sustainable biotechnological solutions for the circular bioeconomy by integrating metabolic engineering, bioprocess development, and waste valorization. We focus on converting waste streams such as lignocellulosic biomass and plastic waste into high-value bioproducts using innovative chemical, biochemical, and microbial approaches.
