1. Introduction
Sayyan is a diagnostic tool designed to help users analyze device performance, detect potential issues, and scan links safely. We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency.
2. Data Collection & Processing
Sayyan does not collect or store personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, or contacts. All core scans and analyses are performed locally on your device.
However, to provide app functionality and support the app, the following occurs:
Local Processing: Device metrics (battery, temperature, storage, memory) are processed temporarily in memory and never stored on our servers.
Link Scanning: When you use the link scanner, the URL is securely transmitted via HTTPS to our backend proxy (sayyan-backend.onrender.com), which forwards it to the Google Safe Browsing API. This processing is ephemeral; we do not log, store, or retain submitted URLs.
3. Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)
Sayyan uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. To serve ads, prevent fraud, and provide analytics, Google AdMob may automatically collect and share certain data. In alignment with our Data Safety form, this includes:
App Interactions: How you interact with the app and ads.
Device or Other IDs: Such as the Android Advertising ID.
Diagnostics: App performance and crash data.
Approximate Location: Inferred from your IP address.
Purpose of Collection/Sharing: Advertising or marketing, Analytics, and Fraud prevention, security, and compliance.

4. Permissions
The app requests minimal permissions strictly for functionality:
INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: For link scanning and loading ads.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: For optional, user-enabled alerts.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To restore background monitoring services if enabled by the user.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all network communications (e.g., link scanning and ad requests). No personal data is stored on external servers.
6. User Control & Data Deletion
Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no server-side data to delete. You can clear all local app data at any time via your device's Android settings. You can also reset your Advertising ID in your device settings to opt out of personalized ads.
7. Children’s Privacy
This app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date.
