How to add content from your Savvas Realize My Library

You can now add content that you saved to your Savvas Realize My Library to your Canvas courses. Examples of My Library content you can add to your Canvas course include:

Custom assessment

With Savvas Realize My Library you can build your own customized assessments using the program's item banks or write your own questions.

Custom PDF utilizing Savvas's PDF annotation tool

If you upload a PDF to Savvas Realize My Library, you get the benefit of the Savvas Realize annotation tool. This tool allows students to draw or write on top of the PDF and submit their answer digitally.

Step by step instructions

Important: You cannot create content inside of Canvas from the Savvas Realize Discover tool. You will need to launch Savvas Realize from the Savvas Realize Discover Tool to add and manage your My Library content. Follow the directions to see how.


Launch the Savvas Realize Discover tool in Canvas

Open the Savvas Realize Discover tool. Once opened, click on the My Library tab.

Adding custom content to your My Library in Savvas Realize

To add items to your My Library you will need to manage them inside of Savvas Realize. To access Savvas Realize click on the Launch Savvas Realize button.

You will be brought to the Savvas Realize homepage. Click on the My Library tab.

Create your content using the links in the Create Content navigation box.

Once you added content, as in this custom test, you will see it in My Library.

Adding content from My Library into Canvas

Go back to Canvas where you have the Savvas Realize Discover tool open.  

Click on the Browse tab and then click on the My Library tab again to refresh the page.

You will now see the item you created in the Savvas Realize Discover external tool. Click the + Import button to add the item from your My Library.

Now that you added the item, click on the Import button to add it to your Canvas course.

You will now see your Savvas My Library assignment in your Canvas course.

Open the assignment to see a preview of the assignment. Click on Edit Assignment Settings to set the max points, due date, availability, etc.
