Parkland Community Center
Opening Fall 2024!
Owned by the Parkland Community Assn.
We purchased the Parkland School building from PLU and they are self-financing a loan for Parkland Community Assn. in the amount of $2,100,000.
Our first payment of $1,050,000 is due May 31, 2025!
Parkland Community Center
16 Classrooms
16 Classrooms
22 offices
16 classrooms
5 Conference Rooms
7 hallway spaces
36,000 square-feet of historic space that will be used to serve our community!
Our goal opening date is fall 2024.
Before we can open to the public, we have a few projects that need to be completed. We are looking for sponsors for these projects and more!
In order to become ADA compliant, we need to replace our wheelchair lift! Unfortunately, the current lift is too old to be repaired. The estimated cost for a new lift is $50,000!
There was roof leak on the south side of the building that has since been fixed. but caused some damage to the south side walls in various spots on every floor in the building and damaged the ceiling on the 3rd floor. The water damage to the ceiling on the 3rd floor led to the discovery of beautiful skylight that had been covered with a false ceiling (water damaged) that we need to remove.
There are 30+ windows that are damaged and need to be replaced. Quite a few windows are boarded up and we would love to have some more natural light in the building!
We have many other projects beyond the ones listed above, but these are our first priority for getting the building open to the public.
If you or your organization sponsors one of these projects, you will be recognized via a plaque that is prominently displayed in the building.
