Work with an NGO in Delhi

Education is the key that will help any society develop to its full capacity. It is bound to bring revolution and shape the future of our nation. Save the Children, headquartered in Gurugram, Delhi, is one of India’s leading children rights NGOs that has initiated several education-related programmes across India. They aim to make certain that every child enrols into school and completes his/her full education there. Apart from assuring that children attend school, this NGO in Delhi also works towards ensuring that these children receive a top-quality education within the current school education system.

For all the education programmes and initiatives, Save the Children functions on the belief that every child regardless of their caste, language, gender, colour, religion, physical and learning abilities deserves an environment where they will learn and grow to their full potential. Performing on these lines, this NGO in Delhi has two education programmes in the state, namely Education to Empowerment: Pillars of Learning and Creating Education Opportunities for children from the foremost marginalized communities.

Through the programme, ‘Education to Empowerment: Pillars of Learning’ Save the Children’s aim is to strengthen the education system across Delhi by enhancing the education levels of children in government schools by ensuring quality education in 20 schools within the South-East district of Delhi. The aim is not only to impart education but also to make sure that quality education is provided in a child-friendly environment as mandated within the Right to Education Act for children living in remote and marginalized communities of society. The second education programme in Delhi, ‘Creating Education Opportunities for young children from the Foremost Marginalized Communities’, has been conceptualized to strengthen the primary years of learning experiences of growing children. This project is in motion in 200 Anganwadis and 25 schools in the North and North West districts of Delhi. This programme aims to enable access to a child-friendly learning environment in state-run preschools (Anganwadi Centres) and ensure a smooth transition to primary schools.

Through all these efforts, Save the Children enables quality learning by ensuring that Anganwadi workers and primary school teachers engage in practising child-centric and activity-based classroom learning processes. Through these programmes, this NGO in Delhi is reaching out to the most marginalized children across Delhi and is ensuring that they receive a sturdy platform in life, especially getting access to quality education.

Save the Children’s education interventions are arranged in tandem with the Global Strategy and Global Education Breakthrough, which maintains that all children must learn from a basic quality education. Through these education programmes, they have directly impacted 8,27,854 children across India.
