Welcome to my homepage...

Hi, my name is Saurav. I have recently joined as a Post Doctoral Researcher at Pennsylvania State University, at the Department of Physics (Eberly College of Science) in the group of Professor Nitin Samarth. I was previously a Research Associate at the University of Manchester.  I completed integrated M.S-Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter from the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore under the supervision of Professor Arindam Ghosh. I was an undergraduate student in the Physics Department, Presidency College (now University) in Kolkata, West Bengal, which is where I was born and brought up. I went to South Point School and South Point High School, Kolkata.

During my Ph.D., I have worked on a class of materials called topological insulators. My primary objective was to understand the origin of fluctuations in the quantum transport regime in these materials. I also succeeded in integrating these materials with graphene to build ultra-sensitive opto-electronic sensors in the infra-red regime. I worked on understanding the properties of bimetallic nano-structures after my PhD at IISc. I am currently involved in the epitaxial growth of Weyl semi-metals, and their spectroscopic and transport properties.
