In the Satake Laboratory, we harness the power of organic synthesis to design and construct molecules capable of self-assembly, leading to the creation of supramolecular materials. By controlling the spontaneous organization of molecules through weak interactions, we aim to build materials whose structures and functions emerge from molecular design.

Our research is directed toward the development of photonic and electronic materials for artificial photosynthesis and CO₂ reduction, as well as the creation of new functional materials derived from organized molecular assemblies. By controlling molecular shape, metal coordination, and weak interactions such as Van der Waals interactions and hydrophobic effects, we seek to build the next generation of functional materials that integrate energy conversion, environmental compatibility, and nanoscale functionality.
