I am an Assistant Professor at the Kotak School of Sustainability, IIT Kanpur. I received my PhD in 2024 from the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. Before joining IIT Kanpur, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry and as a visiting scientist at Harvard University. I hold a master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering from IIT Bombay and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University.
My research focuses on understanding the terrestrial water and energy cycles and their role in shaping weather, climate, and extreme events over land.
