ABOUT ME
Growing students and supporting families and faculty with a heart of service: That is my mission. I strive to help young people have positive experiences in school, to grow resilience in the face of challenge, to guide them in their pursuit of post secondary options and opportunities, and to advocate for equity in, exposure to, and experience with the variety of educational opportunities available to them! It takes a village, so I work eagerly and closely with families and faculty toward these goals. I’m a former music educator who helped students find a place to belong and contribute through arts. I am currently serving as a high school counselor, expanding my mission outside of the music room.
As music teacher and school counselor, I participate in the building and evolution of programs to improve the student experience. For my campus and district, I serve on a variety of committees from curriculum writing and master scheduling to program development and project implementation. I help train new counselors, fill gaps when they arise, and learn new technology, strategies, and procedures to help students and staff. I believe there is always room for personal improvement and growth, as well as something to learn so that I may be of better service to those in my care.
