Walk About is a structure that invites learners to embody concepts, animals, characters, moods, etc. through movement.
Steps:
1. Find or clear a large space for this exercise. Ask your students to spread out in the space, being mindful of their personal space bubbles. Ensure that everyone is able to hear your instructions.
2. Demonstrate a neutral walk for your students (walking upright at a moderate pace with arms kept loosely by sides). Ask your learners to practice a neutral walk. If necessary, remind your learners to respect one another's personal space!
3. After about 10-15 seconds of neutral walking, ask your learners to walk like a specific character, animal, mood, etc. For example, you might say, "Walk like a lion!" or "Walk like you're angry."
4. Share a new prompt every 10-15 seconds, as desired.
