Stretch Like is a structure that invites learners to explore concepts, characters, etc. through gentle movement.
Steps:
1. Find or clear a large space and invite your learners to spread out within it, being mindful of one another's personal space bubbles. If necessary, demonstrate a few simple stretches for your learners and explain that stretching requires slow, gentle movements.
2. Ask your learners to do some simple stretches.
3. After 10-15 seconds, call out a prompt related to the subject matter you're working on, a story you've recently read, etc. For example, you might say, "Stretch like a dinosaur!" or "Stretch like a raincloud!"
4. Encourage your learners to use their imaginations (and remind them to be gentle and respect personal space, if necessary) as you call out different prompts!
