1. Determine how you would like to use Color Dance (to tell a story, to explore different moods, etc.) and determine how many parts you would like your dance to have. Collect one sheet of colored paper for each part; the colors should be distinct enough that learners can tell them apart from a distance. Also gather any additional materials you need (for example, if you're exploring a story with your dance, you might need a book); appropriate music is a great addition to any color dance!

2. Set the stage for your color dance (metaphorically and physically). Explain/review relevant concepts, read relevant stories, etc. as necessary. Then, find or clear a large space for your dance. Ask your learners to spread out within the space, being mindful of keeping their personal space bubbles intact. Ensure that all your learners are able to see and hear you.

3. Explain to your learners that you're going to be performing a dance together and that this dance is going to tell the story/illustrate the concepts/etc. you shared/went over immediately prior. 4. Hold up one colored piece of paper. Share with your learners what concept/object/character/etc. the color reminds you of. Then, ask your learners to come up with a movement that illustrates the concept/character/etc. you described.
