- How do climate variability, seasonality, and extreme events depend on different climate mean states?
- How does climate variability respond to climate forcing?
To address these questions, I collect geochemical data from foraminifera in marine sediments, and synthesize terrestrial climate proxy data and historical observations. I also develop new statistical approaches to model uncertainty in paleoclimate data, enabling quantification of variability and extreme events.
