I have over 14 years of classroom experience teaching everything from middle school math to Stats and Calculus. I work especially well with students who don't like math, and I love finding ways to help them understand what they're studying.
I can meet virtually or in person at specific locations.
I hold a current Florida teaching license (1324708) with certifications in:
Mathematics, 6 - 12
English, 6 - 12
Exceptional Student Education, K - 12
I am approved to receive Florida PEP Scholarship funds as "Part-Time Tutoring Services"
I believe all children can succeed at math, and I’m committed to ensuring your child does just that by:
Making sure your child understands the current material
Giving your child strategies for retention and assessments
Filling gaps your child may have
Wondering if we'd be a good fit? Take a look at my parent agreement below, and then call or text!
Cost: $100/ 55 min period
Frequency: To make sure your child is as successful as possible, I need to meet with them twice a week, which we can schedule at the beginning of each month. I will not tutor a student who can only meet once a week. This is for your child’s benefit: twice a week helps guarantee the success that they want, that you want, and that I want as well.
Payments: You can pay through the EMA marketplace or I can give you the necessary documentation to submit reimbursements themselves.
Planning, Assessment, etc: I love partnering with homeschooling families! While I’m happy to give input on planning or pacing, the parent has the final responsibility for that. I find the partnering relationship works best if every week I know 1) what you’d like your student to learn, and 2) what assessments you’d like them to prepare for. I don’t grade assessments— I’d rather spend the time with your child— but I’m happy to look over graded assessments if you or your child have any questions about it.
Trial period: The tutor and child’s relationship is crucial. Your child needs to feel free to ask questions and make mistakes. Because of that, I encourage you to check in with your child after two weeks. If they don’t feel comfortable with me, or if I feel I’m not able to explain the material in ways they understand, please feel free to seek alternative tutoring so that your child can find the perfect fit.
Check-ins: I am happy to check in with parents once every month or if there are any serious math-related issues. These sessions are limited to 15 minutes and are free. Over 15 minutes and I will need to charge for the time as my free time is limited. I will also call if I feel there are important issues that need to be addressed.
Cancelation: If you need to cancel a session, you must give 24 hours' notice. If you fail to give 24 hours’ notice more than twice, or if you cancel more than three times in a month (barring illness/ER trips, etc) I will not be able to hold your scheduled slots in the future.
