Dr. Sarabjeet Singh Sidhu is Faculty Member of Mechanical Engineering Department at Beant College of Engineering and Technology Gurdaspur, where he has been since August 2001. He received a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with distinction from Gulbarga University in 1996, and an M.Tech. in Production Engineering with distinction from the I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University in 2008. He received his Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering from the Thapar University under the supervision of Prof. Ajay Batish and Prof. Sanjeev Kumar in 2014. His Ph.D. thesis was mainly focused on study of surface properties and residual stresses of aluminium matrix composites after electric discharge machining. Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in manufacturing operations, production engineering, advanced manufacturing technologies, process optimisation, quality assurance, testing, and equipment qualifications. Skilled in interpreting laboratory test data, evaluating metallic and composite materials, and recommending material selections, coatings, finishes, and manufacturing processes based on technical and operational requirements. Experienced working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, suppliers, and testing laboratories to support product development, qualification, and compliance initiatives. Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering projects, managing technical teams, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance quality, productivity, and operational performance.
His present research interests include machining, manufacturing, of composites, titanium alloys and optimization techniques. He has deeply explored the application of electro-discharge treatment for the surface improvement of bioimplant materials. Currently, research work is aimed towards development of β-titanium alloys as biomaterials for the evaluation of their biological response, and strengthening. He has contributed more than 100 research articles in various peer reviewed journals and conferences of international repute. Besides he has also contributed several book chapters in edited volumes from prominent publishers including Springer, CRC press. He is an active reviewer for various scientific peer reviewed journals.
