(TAY)980 This was the one of the original Tayside Station layouts that was on the old alignment from Dundee to Vryheid from the early 1960's. The Lever frame consisted of 12 levers. Train control was Van Schoor to Dejagersdrif & Malonjeni.
With the new improved alignment from Dundee to Vryheid which was completed in the late 1960's, a new station was built, and it was in a different location to the original station. The Lever Frame consisted of 24 Levers, with Backstroke locking on the Home Signals.Sadly, with Malonjeni being just a stone-throw away from Tayside, and other reasons, it was decided to permanently close Tayside and convert it to an Interloop in 1986.
