Newcastle Station as was the layout from 1938, at the time of electrification that had just been commissioned. The Lever Frame consisted of 24 Levers, and was equipped with Standard SAR Signalling & Pullover Frame. Webb & Thompson Electric train staff was the method of train control, from Ingagane to Newcastle (with Subsidiary Instrument at Utrecht Junction, & Newcastle to Ingogo, (with Signal Hill have a crossing staff). By the 1960's, the layout was remodeled and a small portion of C.T.C. took over by 1966.
