(MZI)899
This was the layout of Mtunzini Station in 1980s/90s on the North Coast Mainline. The lever frame consisted of 24 levers with backstroke locking on the Home Signals. Method of Train Control was the Van Schoor system, with Interworking for Hudley and Absolute working to Fairbreeze. Pre 1986, there was also Absolute working to Port Durnford, and interworking to Fort Nepoleon. When CTC was introduced at Empangeni, a new colourlight block panel was installed and interlocked with the current signalling at Mtunzini. By 2002, all Mechanical signalling from Tugela to Mtunzini was removed, and replaced with Radio Track Warrant operation, controlled from Mandini.
