This was the 1921 layout of Matiwane Station on the Natal Mainline. Originally a single line, with Electric Train staff in operation to Elandslaage & Pepworth, which was doubled by the early 1960's. With that, the station was then abandoned. The new double line section between Elandslaagte & Pepworth was Block Bells and Automatic Block Signals from the 1960's to the mid 1980's, by the late 1980's C.T.C. had taken over.
