Ingogo Station layout from 1927, on the original alignment. It had a Lever Frame consisting of 16 Levers, and was equipped with Standard SAR Signalling with a Pullover Frame. Webb & Thompson Electric train staff (Absolute & Permissive) was the method of train control, from Newcastle (With a crossing Staff for Signal Hill), and to Boscobello. It also had a Triangle for assisting locos to turn when needed as helpers for the steep climbs. In the early 1930's it was decided for an easier route to Charlestown, & by the 1938, the new deviation line to Charlestown had been commissioned & electrified, and the original site was abandoned, with a new Ingogo station being built.Â
