This Gillitts Station layout was in use from the early 1915 up to 1930's, an earlier version of this layout had a triangle off the Loop in the vicinity near No.6 indicator and the Station Masters House, North West of the station. by 1920, a switching out interlocking was added with lever number 7, and a key interlocked into the lever frame. Also, Signal Number 4 was removed. Trains working at that time was with the Webb & Thompson's Electric Train Staff, Absolute to Hill Crest & Krantz Kloof (the names at that time). With the New Main Line in operation during this time, and less traffic over the Old Main Line, Gillitts lost its loop line and all signalling, but retained the Goods Siding, but the Signal cabin with diagram & levers abandoned, which was later removed by 1940's. By early 1970 the Goods Siding was removed. The Station survived many years as a Halt & Post Office, but that came to an end by the early 1990's.
