After the New Main Line was opened in 1921, Scissors X-ing Stations:- Manors (797), Padley (802), Alverstone (804) & Harrison (807) closed, which then became Halts. By the mid 1930's, Botha's Hill Station closed along with Gillitts (800), & Drummond (805). By 1943, Botha's Hill had reopend and was installed with standard S.A.R. signalling. A new signal cabin built onto the side of the station building, equipped with 12 levers. Van Schoor was in operation to Hillcrest & Inchanga, but after Inchanga closed in mid 1990, the section was extended to Cato Ridge. This was a busy station up to the late 1980's, Eight suburban trains, (usually 4M2 sets), Two Wayside Goods Trains No.2110 (Up) and No.2115 (Down) & One Fast Parcels No.5502 ran daily. By 1988 traffic had dwindled down to just 4 Trains per day, Down trains No. 0017 Passenger and No. 2115 Wayside Goods from Cato Ridge early morning, & Up trains No.0056 Passenger and No. 2110 Wayside Goods to Cato Ridge. By 1992, with only a daily Monday to Friday Wayside pick up running up to Botha's Hill (Train 2108/2125) returning to Pinetown, the station finally closed. All signals were removed and hand tumblers installed. Telegraph Orders were then in use from 1993 to 2007, Wooden Train Staff is in operation to Pinetown & Inchanga at present (2021).
