Hartenbos Station was previously the Junction for trains between Worcester & Mossel Bay, where trains would arrive at Hartenbos, the locomotives uncouple, run-around the train, and couple up at the other end, then continue the journey. In the later years, Voorbaai yard (with a locomotive depot) was built a stone throw away from Hartenbos, making it the newer official Junction. In this 1970's layout, the station had a frame of 24 Levers, with track circuiting throughout, with Block Bells and release for Voorbaai Signal Cabin. Lever 19 was the release for Voorbaai Yard, & Lever 24 was the release for Voorbaai Main line. This station permanently closed in the early 1990's.
