Tuition Policies:
Weekly lessons are offered in 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute lessons. Students will pay a flat monthly rate of $120, $180, or $240 respectively. (New students are also eligible for one free 15-minute trial lesson.)
In-your-home lessons are offered at a premium fee, depending on travel distance and lesson length.
A 15% discount will be offered to additional students from the same family.
Payment should be made through the MyMusicStaff portal (manually or through AutoPay), Venmo, cash, or check. Invoices will be sent to you on the 1st day of each month, and payment is due by the 7th day of each month. A late fee of $15 will be automatically applied to accounts with an outstanding balance after the 7th of the month.
The studio offers a flat rate tuition: students pay the same amount each month and receive 4 lessons each month. No refunds or credits will be given for missed lessons; instead, students should opt to reschedule the lesson. For months with five weeks, the extra day is typically observed as a studio holiday or used for makeup lessons.
If you must terminate lessons in the middle of a month, you will not be refunded for the rest of the month.
Tuition rates are subject to change due to rising operational costs, but will not change more than once per year.
Attendance Policies:
Please discuss any schedule changes at least 24 hours in advance (barring emergencies or illness). Although tuition is non-refundable, you have the option to reschedule for another time, pivot to a Zoom session, or receive an asynchronous video lesson. Please note that make-up opportunities must be scheduled and completed within 90 days; after this period, the lesson credit will be forfeited.
To be fair to students on the waiting list, reserved lesson times cannot be held for more than four weeks without active tuition. Students who take an extended hiatus will be placed back on the waiting list to await the next opening. To secure your current spot and avoid losing your preferred time, please ensure monthly payments remain up to date.
Please allow for a 1–5 minute grace period at the end of lessons. This ensures we can complete our final exercises without being rushed by the clock.
For in-your-home lessons, one of the student’s parents or guardians must be present in the home for the duration of each lesson.
Other Expectations:
Please bring all lesson books and notebooks to every lesson.
Students must have a piano or keyboard at home for practice. Students are expected to practice daily. Quality lessons are only able to occur if the student has practiced for the lesson beforehand. I recommend a daily practice session equal to half the length of your scheduled lesson (e.g., 15 minutes daily for a 30-minute student, or 30 minutes daily for an hour student).
Students are invited to perform in various recital, festival, and competition opportunities throughout the year. These are not required but highly recommended. There may be additional costs associated with some of these opportunities.
