Majesty
by Ash Raznick
There is the pride, and the prejudice
that follows in key, as if forming a song
Or really, a military march showing off,
Guns, missles, young people off to war
Which house is next in line?
The glimmering mirror reflects well on the king,
But does not show a cent of his people
The sword considered a piece of art
In the hallway it reflects what censorship
Can't hide, that's the issue, no matter
Where you flee to, it appears destiny
Declared war on humanity, before we
Even existed, can you imagine that?
The brain of the people shows longing for
A happy place, but that exploded a
Few days ago, bones and all we
Bury some more history with our pride,
And prejudice relentlessly follows.
Attempting a Romantic Poem to a Place I've Never Been
by Ash Raznick
I see you in every flower grown,
In every fire jumped over, in the burnscar
I task myself with your future,
And condemn myself for the past.
I fell in love with a colorful scarf,
In Sweden, I saw the exact
"What could've been." And I wish
I could give it all to you.
I wish you were able to vacation
Away from this, you need happy,
I fear the world could never
Notice the care, it only sees the wrath.
I woke up and had some chai,
In the chai I saw not just a revolutionary,
But a sleeping toddler wrapped in
Her mother's and grandmother's
Woven blankets.
