Kayla has been part of San Leandro High School's STEM Club for four years.
Initially joining as a freshman, she worked closely with fellow club members on coding projects and joined a 13-hour hackathon. In her sophomore year, Brian became vice president, helping lead workshops for a mobile app startup, Rejuv, alongside a team of over 15 developers. By junior year, she became president, working alongside fellow president (Brian Chen) to grow the club to over 30 members. Together, they started the first STEM-based tutoring at San Leandro High School, and conducted interactive passion-project workshops, uplifting numerous students in their STEM journeys.
This year, Kayla continues leading in STEM Club, putting together methods of fundraising and organization.
