If you want a dedicated solution for underwater swimming with a secure, headband-style fit that stays put in the pool, choose Sanpyl Swimming Headphones Underwater; if you need long battery life and open-ear comfort for daily commutes, gym sessions, or airplane travel without blocking out ambient noise, choose WUYUEGE Hi-Fi Deep Bass. These two devices serve fundamentally different purposes, and picking the wrong one will leave you either unable to swim with music or stuck searching for a charging outlet mid-trip.
• Sanpyl: Its biggest strength is the IPX8 waterproof rating and the rotating shark-fin design that locks securely on the head for submersion; its trade-off is the smaller 180mAh battery limiting total playtime compared to modern earbuds.
• WUYUEGE: It shines with Bluetooth 6.0 stability, a massive 40-hour total battery life, and an open-ear design that keeps you aware of your surroundings; its trade-off is the lack of true isolation and no submersion capability beyond light rain.
• Who it's for: The Sanpyl is strictly for swimmers who need to hear music while submerged, while the WUYUEGE fits commuters, runners, and travelers who prioritize all-day power and situational awareness.
The Sanpyl Swimming Headphones are built around a singular, critical function: keeping audio alive beneath the surface. This is not a general-purpose headphone; it is a specialized tool designed for the unique physics of water. The headline feature here is the IPX8 waterproof rating, which guarantees the device can survive complete submersion without damage. Most standard wireless earbuds simply cannot handle being underwater, but this unit is engineered specifically so users can enjoy their playlist while swimming laps. If you are someone who needs motivation during a workout in the pool, this is likely the only option that will work reliably for that specific use case.
Comfort and security are addressed through a thoughtful mechanical design rather than just soft padding. The unit features a high-elastic soft back winding beam that distributes weight across the top of the head, reducing pressure points. To ensure the device does not slip off during vigorous strokes, the manufacturer has included newly designed shark fins that rotate along the ear contour. This creates a mechanical lock that effectively prevents the headset from falling off even when working out, running, cycling, or splashing aggressively. The package includes four sizes of silicone earplugs, allowing you to find a custom fit that seals the ear canal properly for both sound transmission and water protection.
However, the trade-offs are clear when looking at the internal specifications. The battery is a Lithium ion DH601230 with a capacity of only 180mAh. While this is sufficient for a standard swim session, it does not offer the marathon endurance found in other sports headphones. The Bluetooth version is 5.0, which is stable and reliable for short-range connections, but it lacks the ultra-low latency and range improvements of newer chips. Additionally, while it offers noise reduction functions to isolate external sounds for clearer calls, it is not designed for open-air environments where you need to hear traffic or announcements. If you are looking for a "best long battery life on ear headphones for workout" that lasts all week, this isn't the tool for you. It is a focused piece of gear for those who spend time in the water.

The WUYUEGE Hi-Fi Deep Bass earbuds take a completely different approach, focusing on versatility, battery longevity, and auditory openness. These clip-on open-ear earbuds are designed to rest gently outside the ear canal, eliminating the pain and fatigue often associated with in-ear buds. This makes them an ideal choice for women, kids, and anyone with small ears who finds traditional earbuds uncomfortable after an hour of wear. The ergonomic U-shaped design ensures they stay firmly in place during running, gym sessions, yoga, or commuting, thanks to flexible silicone ear hooks and a clamping structure built specifically for active movement. You stay aware of your surroundings, which is a crucial safety feature for outdoor activities.
The standout feature for many buyers is the sheer amount of power provided. With a total playback time of up to 40 hours when using the charging case, these earbuds eliminate the anxiety of running out of battery mid-day. Whether you are on a long commute, traveling for several days, or attending a multi-day event, the 40-hour window means you rarely need to hunt for an outlet. The Bluetooth 6.0 chip further enhances the experience by providing instant pairing, rock-solid stability up to 33 feet, and low latency as low as 30 milliseconds. This ensures smooth audio sync for videos and gaming without the frustrating dropouts common in older models. The IPX6 waterproof rating handles heavy sweat and rain effectively, making them suitable for intense workouts or unexpected showers, though they are not intended for submersion.
Sound quality is another major draw, with a 12-millimeter dynamic driver delivering deep bass and crystal-clear vocals. The directional audio technology focuses sound into your ears while minimizing leakage, so you can immerse yourself in podcasts or music without disturbing others nearby. However, the lack of active noise cancellation or in-ear isolation is a deliberate design choice. Because the ear canal remains open, you will hear the world around you. If you need to block out the roar of an engine or the chatter of a busy cafe to focus, these might not be the right fit. They are best for those who value situational awareness and comfort over total silence.
• Best for underwater use → Sanpyl Swimming Headphones Underwater: Only this model has the IPX8 rating required to function safely while fully submerged in a pool.
• Best for battery life → WUYUEGE Hi-Fi Deep Bass: The 40-hour total playtime with the case vastly outperforms the limited capacity of the Sanpyl's 180mAh battery.
• Best for airplane travel → WUYUEGE Hi-Fi Deep Bass: The open-ear design allows you to hear flight announcements and crew instructions while still enjoying your content, unlike the sealed Sanpyl.
• Best for small ears or sensitive canals → WUYUEGE Hi-Fi Deep Bass: The clip-on open-ear design avoids putting pressure inside the ear canal, preventing the soreness common with in-ear models.
• Best for secure fit during swimming → Sanpyl Swimming Headphones Underwater: The rotating shark fins and headband beam provide a mechanical lock that prevents loss in turbulent water.
• Best for connectivity speed and range → WUYUEGE Hi-Fi Deep Bass: Bluetooth 6.0 offers faster pairing and a more stable connection up to 33 feet compared to the 5.0 chip in the Sanpyl.
• Best for durability against sweat/rain → Both: Sanpyl handles full submersion (IPX8), while WUYUEGE handles heavy sweat and direct water jets (IPX6).
• Best for call clarity in noisy environments → Sanpyl Swimming Headphones Underwater: The noise reduction function isolates external noise better for calls than the open-ear design of the WUYUEGE.
After analyzing the specs and real-world applications, I would buy the WUYUEGE Hi-Fi Deep Bass for my personal needs, particularly for airplane travel. The combination of Bluetooth 6.0, 40-hour battery life, and the open-ear design makes it infinitely more versatile for daily life, commuting, and flying. On a plane, the ability to hear announcements while listening to music is invaluable, and the long battery life ensures I never have to worry about charging during a long layover. The Sanpyl is an excellent, necessary tool for swimmers, but for a general-purpose audio device that covers travel, work, and fitness, the WUYUEGE offers far greater utility and peace of mind.
No, the WUYUEGE earbuds are rated IPX6, which protects against heavy sweat and rain, but they are not designed for submersion. You should use the Sanpyl for any activity involving being underwater.
The WUYUEGE Hi-Fi Deep Bass offers significantly longer usage with up to 40 hours of total playback time including the charging case, whereas the Sanpyl relies on a smaller 180mAh internal battery.
They may be less comfortable for extended periods of sitting compared to the WUYUEGE because they use a headband and seal the ear canal. The WUYUEGE's open-ear design is generally preferred for long-duration wear like flights.
Yes, the Sanpyl comes with a USB cable for charging, but you do not get a portable charging case like the WUYUEGE, so you must plug the headphones directly into a power source to recharge.
