About me

Hello, my name is Sangmin Park. I am a postdoc (von Karman Instructor) in the Computing + Mathematical Sciences Department at Caltech, mentored by Prof. Franca Hoffmann and Prof. Andrew Stuart.

In Aug. 2025 I completed my PhD in mathematics  at Carnegie Mellon University, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Dejan Slepčev; I also worked closely with Prof. Bob Pego at CMU. Before that I did my undergraduate degree at the University of St Andrews.

I am broadly interested in applied analysis, with a particular focus on partial differential equations, optimal transportation, and their applications to data science.
