I am an ARC Grant Funded Researcher A in the Tectonics & Earth Systems Group, School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences, Adelaide University, Australia. I completed my Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur), India in September, 2025. My doctoral thesis was focused on Indo-Antarctic tectonic reconstruction from the Archean to Neoproterozoic. I consider myself as a structural petrologist who loves to combine structural geology, metamorphic petrology, geochronology and geochemistry to solve the overlong puzzles of geoscience. My main research interest lies in the correlation of different domains of Eastern Ghats Belt, India (Araku-Sunkarametta-Anantagiri sector, part of southern Eastern Ghats Belt, Andhra Pradesh) with East Antarctic terrane (Larsemann Hills and associated lands on the eastern coast including Princess Elizabeth Land, Rauer Islands, Vestfold Hills, Amery Ice Shelf etc.) on the basis of tectonic evolution, structural and metamorphic constraints along with geochronological similarities. I try to understand the geological signatures associated with multiple deformation events on both sides of the Indian Ocean and their implications on the supercontinent reconstruction. I am primarily working to understand the rheology of lithosphere and crust-mantle interaction in the ultra-high temperature (UHT) terranes with a multidisciplinary approach, for predicting suitable geodynamic circumstances for attainment of UHT conditions and post-peak thermal evolution in the Indo-Antarctic terrane. Currently, I work with Prof. Alan Collins at the Adelaide University, conducting research in the Eastern Ghats Province of India and the Rayner Complex and Schirmacher Hills of East Antarctica. I am trying to formulate a P–T–t map for both terranes using garnet Lu–Hf geochronology, inclusion barometry, and Raman Carbonaceous Material Thermometry (RSCM) to decipher paleoelevation and tectonic reconstruction in the Proterozoic, along with detrital zircon petrochronology for both these terranes. I am also working on southern Arabian-Nubian Shield to investigate the tectonic evolution of this Neoproterozoic juvenile arc system through structural geology, geochronology, and geochemical analyses. On the other hand, I am also trying to understand the grain boundary mechanism of quartz in UHT domains for a more fundamental understanding of the grain-grain interaction in the crustal architecture. I aim to integrate my structural and metamorphic field-derived datasets with microstructural and geochronological aspects using optical microscopy, EBSD, SEM-EDS, EPMA, AFM, XRF, LA-ICPMS and Raman Spectroscopy. My scientific queries are directed using a versatile approach, working in collaboration with scientists from other branches such as Metamorphic Petrology, Polar Science, High Temperature geochronology, Metallurgy and Material Sciences. I have long been dedicated to deciphering the complexities of the Indo-Antarctic tectonic framework, a pursuit that remains at the forefront of my scientific endeavours.
