This is your invitation to attend a beautiful performance of "Scheherazade Symphonic Suite" by Nikolai Rimsey-Korsakov. Be ready to be amazed as San Diego Premier Symphony performs this wonderfully poetic and mesmerizing piece. The advanced level Spring concert event is scheduled Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 6 p.m.

Scheherazade Op. 35, is a symphonic suite composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in 1888 and based on "One Thousand and One Nights," sometimes known as The Arabian Nights. This orchestral work combines two features typical of Russian music and of Rimsky-Korsakov in particular: dazzling, colorful orchestration and an interest in the East, which figured greatly in the history of Imperial Russia as well as Asians in general. It is considered Rimsky-Korsakov's most popular work.

This is a great opportunity to hear this work live, and fortunately it will be skillfully performed by San Diego's most talented youth ensemble, NYO's San Diego Premier Symphony.
