The San Diego Donated Books website shows the overview information on the multiple organizations that would received donated books after they have been collected, sorted, and packaged into boxes by two 8th grade students of Pacific Beach Middle School, Wilmer Miguel Mangandi and James Luu as part of their community service project. Solicitation of used books started from the primary school of the organizers, extending to a neighboring high school, local bookstores, and neighborhoods. Five organizations were meticulously selected to be the recipients due to their stance on helping those in need, ensuring the books would be put to good use. This webpage would include a breakdown of each organization's background, mission, and a link to their official website. The project organizer's goal is not only to collectively participate in recycling used books, but to advocate a sustainable way each person can initiate to maximize their impact in reducing the global greenhouse effect, while simultaneously promoting access to textbooks, and enhancing literacy in some underserved areas of our local community, one page at a time.
