If you want immersive sound with active noise cancellation and seamless integration with the Samsung ecosystem for focused listening, choose Samsung Galaxy Buds FE; if you need situational awareness, a secure open-ear clip for running in traffic, and ultra-lightweight comfort all day, choose Hmusic A24.
• Samsung Galaxy Buds FE: Delivers deep bass and silence via Active Noise Cancellation but requires an in-ear fit that some runners find less stable during high-intensity movement.
• Hmusic A24: Offers a barely-there, open-ring design that keeps you aware of your surroundings and stays put on almost any ear shape, though it sacrifices total isolation from wind or traffic noise.
• Who picks Samsung: The tech-savvy user who prioritizes audio fidelity, language translation features, and automatic device switching within the Galaxy ecosystem.
• Who picks Hmusic: The outdoor athlete, cyclist, or commuter who needs to hear their environment clearly while keeping music playing without blocking out sirens or cars.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE are engineered for those who want to create a personal bubble wherever they go. With its angular, around-the-ear shape featuring a wing-tip design, this model is built to stay locked in place, making it a strong contender for gym sessions where head movement is constant. However, the true differentiator here is the Active Noise Cancellation. If your goal is to shut out the hum of an airplane engine, the chatter of a busy office, or the roar of city traffic to focus entirely on your playlist, these buds deliver a level of immersion that open designs simply cannot match.
Beyond just blocking noise, the FE version brings smart utility to the table that appeals heavily to travelers and professionals. The inclusion of the Interpreter feature allows for real-time translations during face-to-face conversations when paired with a compatible Galaxy phone. This isn't just about hearing music; it is about breaking down language barriers instantly. Furthermore, the Auto Switch capability ensures you never miss a beat. You can be streaming a movie on your tablet, and if a call comes through on your phone, the audio seamlessly transfers without you needing to fiddle with settings. This level of ecosystem integration makes it the ideal choice for anyone already invested in the Samsung universe.

That said, the in-ear nature of the Galaxy Buds FE means you will be plugging your ear canal completely. While the wing-tips add security, they still rely on a seal to function correctly, which can lead to pressure feelings for some users over long periods. They are also heavier overall compared to open-clip alternatives, weighing in at 100 grams for the full package including the case. If you are looking for the best bluetooth headset for running where you need to feel like you aren't wearing anything at all, or if you have sensitive ear canals that react poorly to pressure, these might not be your perfect match despite their superior audio isolation.
The Hmusic A24 takes a completely different approach by abandoning the traditional in-ear plug for a flexible, clip-on open-ring design. Weighing only 5.4 grams per bud, these earbuds are designed to be virtually invisible and weightless. The enclosure material is soft Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), which is skin-friendly and adjustable to suit various ear shapes without causing fatigue. This makes them an exceptional option for long-duration wear, whether you are working a shift, studying, or training for hours. Because they sit outside the ear canal rather than inside, there is no risk of ear pain or the "plugged" sensation that often accompanies standard wireless earbuds.
For runners and outdoor enthusiasts, the open-ear architecture is a game-changer. The design explicitly allows you to hear external sounds while enjoying clear audio, which is critical for safety when jogging near roads or cycling in urban areas. You won't have to worry about missing a car horn or a shout from a fellow runner because your ears are wide open. Additionally, the Bluetooth 6.0 technology promises a stable connection with fast transmission and low latency, ensuring your music syncs perfectly with your stride even in crowded environments. The IPX5 rating adds another layer of confidence, meaning sweat and light rain won't stop your workout session.
However, this design comes with a trade-off regarding sound isolation. Since there is no seal in the ear canal, you cannot block out background noise effectively. If you are trying to listen to a podcast on a noisy subway or work in a loud factory, the ambient noise will likely overpower the music unless you crank the volume up, which can be uncomfortable. There is no Active Noise Cancellation here; instead, the device relies on Environmental Noise Cancellation for calls, which helps reduce background chatter during voice chats but does nothing for your music experience. If you prioritize safety and comfort over pure audio immersion, the Hmusic A24 is the logical choice.
• Best for Battery Life: Samsung Galaxy Buds FE wins with a massive 30-hour average battery life, giving you weeks of use before needing a charge, whereas the Hmusic A24 offers a solid 18 hours.
• Best for Situational Awareness: Hmusic A24 is the clear winner for runners who need to hear traffic, pedestrians, and their own breathing without blocking out the world.
• Best for Audio Isolation: Samsung Galaxy Buds FE provides Active Noise Cancellation, essential for commuters or travelers who need to escape the chaos around them.
• Best for Ecosystem Integration: If you use a Samsung phone, tablet, and watch, the Galaxy Buds FE offer unique features like Live Translate and Auto Switch that the Hmusic cannot replicate.
• Best for Long-Term Comfort: The Hmusic A24’s 5.4g weight and open-ring design make it superior for all-day wear without the pressure or fatigue associated with in-ear tips.
• Best for Durability in Sweat: Both are capable, but the Hmusic A24’s open design naturally prevents moisture buildup in the ear canal, making it slightly more hygienic for intense workouts.
• Best Connection Stability: The Hmusic A24 utilizes Bluetooth 6.0, offering a newer standard for connectivity compared to the Bluetooth 5.2 found in the Samsung model.
• Best for Travel Translation: Only the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE support the real-time interpreter feature for foreign languages when paired with a Galaxy device.
I would personally buy the Hmusic A24 if my primary goal was running or commuting outdoors. The safety benefit of keeping my ears open to the environment outweighs the lack of noise cancellation, and the featherlight design means I forget I am wearing them entirely. However, if I were stuck in a noisy home office or traveling frequently, I would switch to the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE for their ability to isolate me from the world and translate languages on the fly. For the specific use case of finding the best open ear headphones for running, the Hmusic A24 is the smarter, safer bet.
Yes, the Hmusic A24 is specifically designed for this scenario as its open-ear design allows you to hear sirens and vehicles while listening to music, unlike the sealed Samsung buds which block environmental sound.
Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE include an Interpreter feature that works with the Samsung Phone app to provide real-time translations during face-to-face conversations.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE offer significantly longer playtime at 30 hours total compared to the 18 hours provided by the Hmusic A24, making them better for multi-day trips without a charger.
The Hmusic A24 is much lighter at roughly 5.4 grams per bud and uses a clip-on design that avoids the ear canal, making it far more comfortable for those who dislike the pressure of in-ear earbuds.
