About Me

Welcome to my website! My name is Samrat Mukhopadhyay. I am an Assistant Professor at the Electronics Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. I was an Institute Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where my mentor was  Dr. Abhishek Sinha. I obtained my PhD in December, 2020 from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engg. of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. My thesis advisor was Prof. Mrityunjoy Chakraborty The title of my thesis is New Greedy Algorithms With Efficient Recovery for Compressed Sensing.

Before joining IIT Kharagpur for a PhD, I spent two amazing years as a Masters student to earn my M.E. degree from the department of Electrical Communication Engg. of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. My Masters supervisor was Prof. Anurag Kumar. I obtained my B.E. degree from the department Electronics and Telecommunication Engg. of the Indian Institute of Engineering Science  and Technology, Shibpur.

I am broadly interested in a range of topics including (but not limited to) compressed sensing, statistical learning, online learning, high dimensional statistics, information theory, stochastic processes, concentration inequalities, quantum algorithms and quantum machine learning.
