Study 0f Assessment Methods and Psychopathology Across the Lifespan

Welcome to the webpage for the Study of Assessment Methods and Psychopathology Across the Lifespan (SAMPL) Research Lab

The SAMPL research lab is located at the Department of Education, University of Alberta. We are a part of the School and Child Clinical Psychology Program. Our research studies focus on developing a better understanding of evidence-based assessment of risk factors for internalizing psychopathology. In particular, we are working on developing more valid and reliable methods of assessing temperament/personality across the lifespan, with a particular focus on emergence of maladaptive traits and associated impairment.

The SAMPL lab is also a part of the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) Consortium. As a part of the HiTOP, we contribute to the research literature on improving the organization, description, and measurement of psychopathology. Please see our projects page for more details.
