Samantha is working on a memoir, Verisimilitude, about her life growing up with chronic illness, auto-immune disease, mental illness, and disability, and the structures of ableism faced by people with disabilities. The word 'verisimilitude' means 'the appearance of being true or real' or 'similarity to the truth', a goal in the writing of realism. This is a very common experience of people with invisible chronic illness and mental illness, wherein they often have the appearance of true health or wellness, and yet that is a fiction.
Samantha is also a part-time indexer of scholarly books, and has indexed books on myriad topics, including music and literature.
