Samantha Bassler, SMB, MSt (Oxon), MA (Rutgers), PhD (Open), a 500hr certified yoga teacher and former yoga studio owner, lives in Brooklyn, NY, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighbourhood, with her spouse, artist and graphic designer Eric Bintner, pitbulls Lili & Johan, rabbit Mochi, and cats Chloe, Zoe, & Valentina.
From 2006-2026, Samantha was an adjunct professor of music, and still maintains adjunct teaching positions at Rutgers University at Newark and New York University Steinhardt: both for the LOVE of the teaching and academia, and for the brutal truth that she would otherwise be a disabled person without health insurance.
She taught private music lessons to children and adults since 2000, and opened a brick & mortar music studio in Brooklyn in 2011, Stellar Music Space, located in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
