Imagine a state where a single 8-digit family code and a 9-digit individual code open the door to scholarships, pensions, rations, health insurance and even a widow’s monthly stipend. That is exactly what Samagra—the Madhya Pradesh government’s flagship social-security platform—has been quietly doing since 2014. In the next ten minutes, let’s walk through what Samagra ID, Samagra Portal and Samagra eKYC really mean for an ordinary citizen, and how you can use them without standing in a single queue.
In 2014, MP decided that every welfare scheme—from mid-day meals to old-age pensions—would run on one unified ID system. Thus Samagra Social Security Mission was born. Today, Samagra ID is issued in two flavours:
Family ID (8 digits): identifies the entire household.
Member ID (9 digits): unique to each person inside the family.
Without a Samagra ID, you simply cannot enrol in any state-run social benefit, be it Ladli Behna Yojana or PM Free Food Grain Scheme .
Open https://samagra.gov.in on your phone and you will land on a dashboard that looks like a mini-government in a browser. From here you can:
register a new family or member;
print your Samagra ID card;
link your Aadhaar via Samagra eKYC;
check if your daughter’s scholarship has reached the bank;
see which pension you are automatically eligible for .
Think of the Samagra portal as the single window where every department—from Food to Women & Child Development—drops its data and pulls its beneficiary list.
The Samagra eKYC process is the digital handshake between your Samagra ID and Aadhaar. Here is the no-jargon route:
Go to samagra.gov.in → Update Samagra Profile → Aadhaar e-KYC .
Enter your 9-digit Samagra Member ID.
An OTP lands on your registered mobile; key it in.
Your Aadhaar details auto-populate; click Confirm.
If your name, date of birth or address differ between the two databases, the Gram Panchayat or Ward In-charge will physically verify and correct the mismatch. Once green-ticked, your Samagra eKYC status shows “Verified” and you can move on to link land records or update qualification details .
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) starts flowing only after Samagra eKYC is complete.
Your Samagra ID becomes the single key for:
– Ladli Behna Yojana (₹1,250/month)
– Old-age pension
– Student scholarships
– Ration cards / food security
– NREGA wage payments
Click “Print Samagra Family/Member Card” on the portal, punch in your ID, hit Download, and a colour PDF is ready for print or WhatsApp sharing .
