Laundry Management

Problem Statement: 

Several items are mistakenly collected from patient rooms. These include dentures, telephones, and even gel pillows. When these pillows are put through the wash cycle, they explode under the hydraulic press during the spin cycle. The gel clogs the filters... and the laundry has to be shut down!

Objective: 

Automatically detect "intruders" in an unwanted area: the case of gel pillows in a hospital laundry process.

Solution: 

Use of an RFID portal to automatically detect gel pillows equipped with UHF passive RFID tags BEFORE they enter the wash cycle.
