The emerging nature of biophysics in the past couple of decades has made it extremely difficult for anyone to get familiarized with the approaches used in statistical data analysis and modeling in biophysics at one place. The central goal of this workshop is to bring diverse expertise from different areas of biophysics, such as drug design, drug delivery, microhydrodynamics, bacterial biofilms, developmental biophysics etc. at one place to provide hands-on training to the Master’s and doctoral students in statistical methods/tools and modeling approaches.
Who is this workshop for ?
This Karyashala workshop is meant to provide hands-on training to PG and PhD students with strong inclination towards scientific and engineering research in the area of soft matter and biophysics, and are pursuing their respective degree within India. It is expected that the participants have some background in mathematics and programming.
What will be covered in the workshop?
The workshop intends to cover basic fundamentals of mathematical, computational and statistical modelling approaches and their applications in soft matter and biophysics. In particular the target of the workshop is to train students on
Fundamentals of mathematical and computational modelling
Statistical inference from the viewpoint of frequentist and Bayesian frameworks
Data driven modeling approaches
Experimental design in soft matter and biophysics
Some real life examples and open problems
