Originally from Penang, Malaysia, Sam Hwang has lived in Singapore for more than 40 years. In 2000, he was retrenched from his IT job after the Asian financial crisis. Since then, he has accumulated 20 years of engagement in new uncharted areas in the process of re-inventing himself. With a wide range of experiences to boot, he has turned to writing to express his creative and literary side.
An active observer of things around him and beyond. A thinker whose favourite pastime is asking what, when, how and why. An accidental writer who has a need to commit those thoughts and ideas to writing so that it may be shared and live on. He was born in Penang. And he is made of Penang. Presently lives in Singapore. He has a varied experience as a Technical Sales Representative in Materials Handling Equipment, Private tutor, Computer programmer, Renovation coordinator, Room rental agent, Private investigator, Financial planner and Cabbie.
Was educated in Penang at St Xavier's Institution, La Salle School, Technical Institute, and later in Singapore at St. Joseph's Institution.
