Report assembled using JSON Import function into Google Sheets scheduled to run daily. Data is refreshed two days after its initial reporting due to lag time in data entry from CDC. You can view the embedded GDS report below and find instructions on setting up your own Google Sheet & GDS Report at the bottom of this page.
1. Get started by making a copy of the Google Sheet using the link below.
2. After making a copy of the sheet above, renamed it and organize it in your Drive ;)
3. Once you've done that, you should now see a custom menu item at the top of the page named "Sheet Controls."
4. Click on that and select "Schedule Automated Import".
5. Data will now be added to the sheet every day at midnight using a JSON import from CDC.gov.
6. Now make a copy of the GDS Data Source using the link below and clicking the copy icon in the top right corner.
7. Rename it and organize yourself ;)
8. Now click the link below to go to the GDS Report. Click the copy icon in the top right corner of the screen to make a copy of the report template.
9. When you're prompted to swap out the data sources, simply select the new data source that you created above (should be the top of the list).
10. You're all set! Customize away. As long as the CDC continues to post numbers, the data will continue to be updated daily.
