Dear Students, Parents and Teachers,
As we step into a new month, we turn our attention to two values that form the very foundation of a principled life and a harmonious society—integrity and justice.
The theme for this month, “Integrity and Justice”, invites us to reflect on the choices we make, the principles we uphold and the responsibility we share in creating a world where honesty, fairness and respect guide our actions. Integrity gives us the courage to stand by what is right, even when it is difficult, while justice reminds us to treat others with fairness, dignity and impartiality. Together, these values shape not only our character but also the quality of the communities we build.
At Salwan, we believe that education extends far beyond academic achievement. It is equally about nurturing individuals who possess the moral courage to speak the truth, the wisdom to make ethical choices and the compassion to recognise the rights and perspectives of others. Through our learning experiences and everyday interactions, we hope to encourage our students to understand that integrity is reflected in the honesty of their efforts, the sincerity of their intentions and the consistency of their actions. Justice, in turn, finds expression in standing against unfairness, respecting differences and ensuring that every individual is heard and valued.
Our classrooms and school corridors offer meaningful opportunities to practise these principles. Whether it is acknowledging a mistake, giving credit where it is due, resolving a disagreement fairly or standing beside someone who is being treated unjustly, every small act becomes a lesson in character.
When students learn to take responsibility for their choices and consider the impact of their actions on others, they begin to understand that doing what is right matters more than simply doing what is convenient.
In a world where opinions differ and circumstances often test our convictions, integrity and justice serve as our moral compass. They remind us that fairness must not be influenced by favouritism, that honesty must not depend on convenience and that respect must extend to every individual, irrespective of differences. As educators and parents, we share the responsibility of modelling these values, creating environments where truth is encouraged, voices are respected and accountability is embraced.
I encourage our students to approach this month with thoughtful minds and courageous hearts—to choose honesty over dishonesty, fairness over prejudice and responsibility over indifference. Let us remember that meaningful change begins with the choices we make each day and that even the smallest act of integrity can inspire trust, while a single act of fairness can restore faith in humanity.
Let us work together to nurture a community where character is valued as much as achievement, where justice is reflected in our decisions and where integrity becomes the guiding principle of our lives. May this month inspire us to build not merely a culture of rules, but a culture of conscience—one where doing the right thing is a shared commitment and treating others fairly is a way of life.
Let us stand firm in our values, act with fairness and lead with integrity—because a just world begins with each one of us.
Blessings!

Integrity and Justice: The Courage to Do What Is Right
Integrity lives in the choices we make—
in the truth we speak when silence seems easier,
in the promises we keep when no one is watching,
in the courage to stand by what is right,
and in the honesty that guides our actions
even when the path is difficult.
It lives in a student who chooses fairness over favour,
a teacher who leads with honesty,
a leader who serves with responsibility,
a voice that speaks against injustice,
and a heart that refuses to turn away
when someone is denied what they deserve.
Each action, however small,
becomes a reflection of our character—
a quiet yet powerful reminder
that doing right matters more than appearing right.
Integrity and Justice—
for integrity gives strength to our character,
and justice gives meaning to our actions.
One teaches us to remain truthful to our values;
the other reminds us to uphold the rights of all.
Together, they build trust,
nurture respect,
and create a world
where fairness is not a privilege
but a promise made to everyone.
And perhaps that is the true measure
of a just and compassionate society—
not merely the rules we establish,
but the fairness with which we follow them;
not the power we possess,
but the responsibility with which we use it.
For justice must rise above prejudice,
integrity must stand stronger than temptation,
and every individual must be treated
with dignity, equality and respect.
This October,
let us pause to reflect
on the values that shape our decisions
and the principles that define our character.
Let us choose honesty over convenience,
fairness over favouritism,
courage over silence,
and compassion over indifference.
Let us remember that even the smallest act
of truthfulness and fairness
can inspire trust, restore hope,
and make a meaningful difference.
For integrity is the foundation
upon which character is built,
and justice is the promise
upon which a fair society stands.
When we live with honesty
and act with fairness,
we do more than follow our values—
we become the change
we wish to see in the world.
One truth.
One conscience.
One commitment to fairness.
One step towards a just world.

The walls are cracked
and are turning pale.
Succumbed to the wheels of time
Covering itself in a weary veil
A lizard escapes my gaze
with the whistling hiss
Watching her dash across the crevices
is a peculiar bliss
The faded windows look away with empty eyes
The clanking of cutlery is forgotten and forlorn
Stacked dishes on the shelves, yawn and sigh
Good days have ended, good days have gone
— Ridhima (Grade X)
Some lives leave footprints, some kindle a flame,
Some transcend the ages, untouched by fame.
He nurtured young minds, gave aspirations flight,
And sowed in young hearts the seeds of light.
With wisdom to guide and compassion to impart,
He taught us that learning must awaken the heart.
Though time may pass and years may depart,
His legacy of service shall forever endure in every heart.
— Shraddha Goyal (Grade XII)
Some small leaves footprint made of gold,
Some hearts spread warmth a thousand fold.
Your vision, wisdom and values bright,
Will guide our path and be our light.
Your noble deeds will never fade,
The path you built, the dreams you made.
You'll be remembered through the years,
With love, pride and grateful tears.
