Since the start of the Russo-Ukrainian War, we have twice conducted short-term mission trips to Ukraine to help our brothers and sisters there, support their evangelistic work, and contribute to the construction of their newly built Protestant churches.
The residents of Ukraine also need a lot of help in their daily lives. We are also providing them with assistance.
This year (2026), we will return to Ukraine in April. The two main purposes of this trip are:
To visit the Chinese missionaries who remain in the war zone. They fled Ukraine at the beginning of the war, but because some of their followers could not escape, they returned to the war-torn cities to continue shepherding these brothers and sisters.
Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. But if a hired hand is not the shepherd, the sheep are not his own. When he sees the wolf coming, he abandons them and runs away. The wolf seizes them and scatters the flock. The hired hand runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the Good Shepherd; I know my sheep, and my sheep know me.” (John 10:11-14) Since the beginning of the Russo-Ukrainian War, Protestantism has been flourishing in Ukraine, with new churches springing up everywhere. They hope that the revival of Christianity in Ukraine can lead to a revival of Christianity in Europe.
Because Ukraine suffered severe damage under the Soviet Union, Orthodox Christianity only gradually recovered its doctrines after Ukraine's independence. Protestantism, however, has only recently developed under God's grace. However, the newly emerging leaders in the church lack formal theological training. We hope that Christian pastors in North America can help provide this training.
How to help brothers and sisters in the Ukrainian church who wish to receive theological training to improve themselves is a ministry we are exploring with local Bible colleges, seminaries, and local churches.
During Christmas, the only gift we gave was bread. Because they needed bread.
