Lesson 1 God of Creation

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Gen. 1:1

We Praise you God (Hebrew EL):

• 1. … for you existed before time… timeless, with no beginning or end

  2. … for you existed before creation … ever-present God

  3. … for you are the creator of heavens and earth (Neh. 9:6)

  4. … for you are the creator of both visible and invisible (Col.1:16)

  5. … for you created all things by your powerful Word/ Jesus Christ you Son (Jn. 1:1-4)

  6. … for you created all things by your Holy Spirit (Ps. 104:30)

  7. … for you created us as firstfruits, brand new and not refurbished

  8. … for you created us from nothing (Isaiah 40:26)

  9. … for you are our creator…created, formed, and made (Isaiah 43:7)

  10. … for you have created us by your will to have our being (Rev. 4:11)

Our Father God we acknowledge that we are created by you:

• 1. … to worship you for giving us life (Neh. 9:6)

  2. … to worship you along with the multitude of heavenly hosts (Neh. 9:6)

  3. … to record your deeds for the yet to be born to praise you (Ps. 102:18)

  4. … to praise you for at your command we were created (Ps. 148:5)

  5. … for your glory to call on your name as our creator (Isa. 43:7)

  6. … with new birth to be like you in righteousness and holiness (Eph. 4:24)

  7. … to be holy and blameless in your sight (Eph. 1:4)

  8. … to do good works, prepared in advance for us to do (Eph. 2:10)

  9. … with new birth through the word of truth to be a kind of firstfruits over all creation (Jam. 1:18)

Father God we acknowledge that we have sinned against you:

• 1. … by worshiping & serving created things rather than our creator

  2. … by going after schemes though we were created upright (Ecc. 7:29)

  3. .. we are sorry for our known and unknown disobedience.

We ask you to restore us:

1. … our heart’s desire to worship you for giving us eternal life through Jesus Christ

2. … our heart’s desire to praise you for we have given birth by your mercy

3. … our heart’s desire to glorify you by calling on the name of Jesus Christ

4. … our heart’s desire to respond to your word of truth to live

a. holy,

b. blameless

c. righteous lives by the power of the Holy Spirit

5. … our heart’s desire to do good works that you have prepared for us.
