EXAMPLES OF HOW I USE GMAIL FILTERS:

• I created Folders and set the Label color. I added a Gmail filter which automatically sends certain emails to that folder. Those emails pop out in my inbox since they’re tagged with that color.
• I identified categories of emails that I can’t avoid but don’t want to see in my inbox. I created a filter to auto-archive them.
• I identified categories of email I need to forward (ex. to a coworker, to an alias) and created a filter to automatically forward those.

HOW TO SET UP FILTERS IN GMAIL >>

• Open Gmail.
• In the search box at the top, click the Down arrow .
• Enter your search criteria. If you want to check that your search worked correctly, see what emails show up by clicking Search.
• At the bottom of the search window, click Create filter.
• Choose what you’d like the filter to do.
• Click Create filter.
