Jesus is condemned to death
"We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world. "
Mark 15: 12-15
“What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?” Pilate asked them. “Crucify him!” they shouted. “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!” Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.
Reflection:
Jesus stands in front of Pilate, knowing that he is innocent, and he still stays silent and accepts the blame so that he forgive all of our sins. He knew that he would suffer the ultimate punishment, but he did it anyway so that he can save us, Jesus trusted in God's plan and by doing so he saved the whole world from sin. Think in your life about times where you need to trust more in God's plan. Take these times to prayer and then try to implement the Lord's plan into your everyday life. Through Jesus' passion we realize that even though it can be challenging, that if we follow God's plan, good things will follow.
Prayer:
Jesus, help us to see your acceptance of blame, not as weakness or resignation, but as the ultimate example of self-sacrificing trust in God. Give us that same trust as teachers so that, when we see wrongs we did not perpetuate or messes we did not make, we step in to offer your healing, comfort, and hope.
