Short Biography

Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Azad is an accomplished academic, researcher, and administrator with over two decades of experience in higher education, currently serving as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at United International University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Padova, Italy, and has previously held prominent leadership roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Department Chairperson at the Green University of Bangladesh. Beyond his administrative and research achievements, he possesses a distinguished instructional background spanning undergraduate and graduate programs across multiple international institutions—including Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, and American International University-Bangladesh—where he has designed and delivered core courses in data communication, computer networking, cryptography, information security, and software engineering. Recognized for pedagogical excellence, he has actively integrated innovative framework initiatives such as Learning & Teaching 4.0 global classrooms, developed comprehensive laboratory manuals and structured multimedia materials, and consistently earned top-tier student evaluation ratings. His extensive research portfolio spans computer networking, information security, machine learning, and underwater communications—highlighted by 93 scholarly publications, two co-authored/edited books with Wiley and CRC Press, four patents, multiple international awards and research grants totaling $217,000, and the successful supervision of nearly 60 graduate and undergraduate students.
