Grateful for what I have, I want a world where social safety isn't a luxury, but a right.
Hi, Sahajpreet here! I'm a first-year 🐣CS PhD student at NUS Computing. I have the privilege of being advised by Prof. Min-Yen Kan and Prof. Kokil Jaidka. I am a member of Web IR/NLP Group (WING) and SMOL-Project. I'm thankful to NUS Centre for Trusted Internet and Community for supporting my study here at NUS.
Research: My research interests lie at the intersection of computing and social sciences, focusing on making a trustworthy internet and safe social media for everyone. I am particularly interested in exploring hate speech, biases, fact-checking, misinformation, propaganda, computational politics, etc.
I love meeting new people and hearing fresh perspectives on social issues. I am working and have worked with awesome people. So, if you’re up for a conversation on social computing (or want to geek out over ideas), feel free to drop me a line through email or X.
PS: I am looking for motivated interns to collaborate on projects in NLP and Computational Social Science. I will be closely involved in guiding your research, and remote collaboration may be possible depending on the circumstances (e.g., mathematical or analysis work with minimal GPU requirements).
If you are interested, please send me an email with brief research plan (e.g., 2–3 potential research questions and a short feasibility check), along with how you think I might be able to support your work.
