Grateful for what I have, I want a world where social safety isn't a luxury, but a right.
Hi, Sahajpreet here! I'm a first-year 🐣CS PhD student at NUS Computing. I have the privilege of being advised by Prof. Min-Yen Kan and Prof. Kokil Jaidka. I am a member of Web IR/NLP Group (WING) and SMOL-Project. I'm thankful to NUS Centre for Trusted Internet and Community for supporting my study here at NUS.
Research: My research interests lie at the intersection of computing and social sciences, focusing on making a trustworthy internet and safe social media for everyone. I am particularly interested in exploring hate speech, biases, fact-checking, misinformation, propaganda, computational politics, etc.
I love meeting new people and hearing fresh perspectives on social issues (if you are in Singapore, feel free to ping me). I am working and have worked with awesome people. So, if you’re up for a conversation on social computing (or want to geek out over ideas), feel free to drop me a line through email.
PS: If you are an undergrad and want to work with me on anything interesting, please send me an email with a brief research plan (e.g., 2–3 potential research questions and a short feasibility check), along with how you think I might be able to support your work. In general, I am quite friendly ;)
