Uber Air Skyport Mobility Hubs will accommodate pedestrians along with eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) operations, electric bikes and scooters, charging infrastructure and connection to transit. Our “SkyPark” design concept in Los Angeles focuses on the greater community, incorporating transit connectivity, sustainable performance and neighborhood placemaking with an expansive public amenity at the ground level. The design leverages pre-fabricated parts to support eVTOL aircraft operations as well as spaces for multi-modal transit users and more than two acres of a community park. The park is a restorative landscape, absorbing noise, filtering pollution and mitigating the urban heat island effect while providing vibrant recreation and social spaces for the community.

Using a computational process and design framework, the design team continually iterated to optimize and strengthen aesthetics, constructability, affordability, structural and functional requirements. Uber SkyPark elevates the urban transportation experience, enriching lives at the personal, neighborhood and community scales.
