FluentMate is developed by North Corner (developer: Abdullah Al Mahmud). User safety is a top priority. These published safety standards describe our approach to preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), protecting minors, and enabling users to report abusive behavior.
Scope
These standards apply to all features of the Fluent-Mate application, including audio conversations between users.
Key safety measures
- Age policy: Users must be at least 13 years old to register and use the app. We do not intentionally provide features targeted at children under 13.
- Reporting and escalation: Users can report abusive behavior or suspected CSAE via the in-app report flow or email. All reports are reviewed by our team and escalated to local law enforcement when required.
- Blocking: Users can block other users to stop further contact.
- Post-call reporting: Users are provided an option to report or block the other user immediately after each call.
- Content moderation: We maintain manual review processes for reported incidents.
- Data handling & evidence preservation: Relevant abuse reports are retained securely for the duration necessary to investigate and respond to incidents, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Safety education: App guidance encourages users to avoid sharing personal or precise location information and to follow community safety tips.
How reports are handled
1. User submits a report via the in-app report flow.
2. Trust & Safety team reviews the report within 48 hours and takes appropriate action (warning, temporary suspension, permanent ban).
3. If the report indicates potential criminal activity or CSAE, we preserve evidence and escalate to law enforcement as required by local law.
